The honest reality is that had it not been for the CTO education foundation scholarship I would not have been able to purse my University education and be where I am today.  My successes have been because of the generous contributions from the CTO education foundation donors.  The scholarship gave me a great sense of comfort knowing that my tuition was taken care of hence I was able to focus on completing my studies.  Additionally, receiving the CTO scholarship brought me one step closer in achieving my career goal which is to secure a brighter future within the tourism, hospitality and travel industry.   This scholarship has position me in a direction to continue help myself, family, current students I teach and country and by extension the wider Caribbean.  Again, I would like to thank the CTO education foundation and its partners for granting me the opportunity to make my dreams a reality.  Forever a grateful and proud CTO scholarship recipient.

To be a CTO scholarship/grant recipient, one has to be an advocate for the development and promotion of a sustainable tourism product within the Caribbean region.  Today, I am currently an Adjunct Lecturer at one of my past schools, which I believe it is my opportunity to contribute in training skilled personnel for the industry.  Additionally, I also volunteer my time to assist the Ministry of Tourism in Trinidad in their career days at secondary schools throughout the island.  As an advocate for tourism, I am always thinking of how I can make a more meaningful contribution which can assist government to develop strategic tourism plans and policies.  Therefore, I believe as a CTO scholarship recipient it is my duty to giving off exemplary service to the tourism industry and being a true tourism ambassador/ tourism role model.

As the Adjunct Hospitality and Tourism Lecturer at Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (TTHTI), I have the major responsibilities of preparing course material and lesson plan as it relates to the course outline, delivering lectures, and preparing and marking course assessments.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Tourism Development and Management at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad.
